Application Development

KioHealth Healthcare Solutions are setup to allow for simple customization.  The Administrative ToolBox option provides customization tools to the medical facility- allowing staff to change forms, update holiday hours, alter the WayFinder animation and text directions, and many other functions.  The ToolBox is easy-to-use, simple to operate and provides administration with methods to change/update the software solution.
In addition to the Administrative ToolBox option, KioHealth can develop customized application solutions.  Our developers are experienced in the healthcare industry and understand touch screen graphic requirements; resulting in superior customized solutions.  From changing the look of the start screen to integrating complex questionnaires, medical histories, check-in processes and mapping updates – KioHealth has experienced developers to meet customization requirements. 

Integration


The KioHealth Solutions can be integrated with a variety of EMR/HIS systems, including various financial and scheduling systems.  The web-based Patient Portal can also allow for integration into the back-end system.  Whether information comes through the patient’s home computer or from the kiosk at Point of Registration, a number of HL7 integration touch points can be established.  Using an interface enginer, KioHealth integration can provide one-to-many, many-to-one application connectivity to administrative, financial and clinical applications.  KioHealth’s integration experts work to ensure that proper bi-directional feeds are created to support the medical facility’s overall objectives.

Hosting


KioHealth Solutions can be licensed on an Enterprise basis, or hosted directly by KioHealth through an ASP model.  Medical facilities selecting to have KioHealth host the solution receive continual software support, including updates and patches (as needed).  The ASP hosting model includes the Administrative ToolBox, allowing the facility to change, update and alter the various software applications: change questionnaire questions, update office hours, update latest consent forms, etc.  Furthermore, this solution is hosted on KioHealth Servers, reducing demand on the organization’s internal IT resources.

KioHealth Servers are safely housed at a data center in Austin, TX.  Backed by a secure and reliable data center infrastructure, customers can rest assured that their KioHealth Healthcare Solutions are up and running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The KioHealth data center infrastructure includes raised floors, state-of-the-art fire suppression, abundant and redundant high speed Tier 1 Internet connectivity, redundant power, and a self-contained cooling system.  UPS systems provide back-up power for the facility.  Moreover, they are backed up with diesel generators with the capacity to run for 30 days without the need for outside refueling.

Installation

All KioHealth Healthcare Solutions are developed and engineered to be truly “plug and play,” meaning ready to operate quickly once removed from the packaging.  However, if installation services are desired (setup, connecting networks, confirming software functionality on-site, etc.), KioHealth’s nationwide network of technicians, with over 3400 nationwide locations, can manage these services.  Installation can include the following services:

  • Removal of Hardware from packaging: The hardware is pre-loaded with the appropriate solution (Patient Self Check-In, WayFinder, ER Triage, Patient Surveys, Patient Education, etc.)
  • Setting up Solution: Installing hardware, confirming network connectivity, setting-up any required software customization
  • Final Check-out:  Sign-off approval by the organization and removal of debris

Content Management

KioHealth will update content on the application at the request of the medical facility.  Using the KioHealth web-based platform, technicians can modify consent forms, update directions, change the graphical look of the screens, add new languages, etc.  All content updates must be approved by the facility prior to uploading and posting to the solution.  Regardless of the hosting model chosen (Enterprise License or ASP), KioHealth technicians can assist your organization with any needed content updates. 
Content Management Services are provided by KioHealth Professional Services on a fee schedule basis.  The organization’s desires and requirements are identified and pricing is estimated based on a project-specific basis- meaning you won’t incur costs for the development of others’ custom applications.
The KioHealth ASP hosting model includes an allotment of content management hours per month, providing flexibility and customizability to your organization’s solution.  This hourly allotment of monthly content management saves your organization time and money, and easily allows you to keep all software information up-to-date. 

Training

As with any new work process, training is essential for maximizing the benefits of the KioHealth Healthcare Solutions.  Both on-site and web training are available.  Training classes can be in individual or group format, including options to specialize in a particular functionality (e.g. Appointment Scheduling Administrative ToolBox, WayFinder Editor Toolbox, Patient Check-in Office Workflow, etc.).  The following training options are available with instruction by a certified KioHealth Trainer:

  • On-Site Training:  A certified KioHealth Trainer will travel to the class, providing live training without the need for trainees’ travel expenses
  • Off-Site Training:  Students can attend any appropriate KioHealth Solution Training Seminar given throughout the year
  • Web-based Training:  Using today’s latest communication and  online training technologies, KioHealth can train staff remotely via the internet
